Fifteen years have flown by since the inception of Five Fifty in 2009, right in the midst of a UK recession. With audacious optimism and an unwavering belief in our vision, we set out with a simple mission: to create a studio where we could do what we love while taking charge of our own fate.
Our journey began primarily in graphic design with a heavy bias to digital and website design, as we meticulously crafted designs and content that mirrored the essence of our clients’ aspirations. Nestled beside the tranquil millpond at Fromehall Mill, our fledgling studio hummed with creativity before we later moved to studios in Stroud town centre.
Yet, when the pandemic descended upon the world in 2020, we, like many, found ourselves navigating uncharted waters. Locked down but undeterred, we pivoted, converting dining tables into makeshift workspaces, determined to keep the flame of creativity burning.
However, the burden of overheads persisted, prompting a bold stroke of ingenuity: why not build a studio in the garden? And thus, our home studio was born.
Now, our home studio serves as our base of operations, allowing us to continue serving clients both near and far. Throughout the years, we’ve remained agile, keeping pace with emerging technologies. Our services have expanded to encompass everything from brand identity to websites and digital applications, motion graphics, and video editing.
